In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:
This is what King Cyrus of Persia says: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to build Him a temple at Jerusalem in Judah. Whoever among you of His people may go up, and may the Lord his God be with him. (2 Chronicles 36:22-23)
Sanhedrin Calls For Trump to Fulfill King Solomon’s Mandate by Praying on Temple Mount / Breaking Israel News, May 15, 2017
The nascent Sanhedrin sent a letter on Monday to US President Donald Trump, calling on him to ascend to the Temple Mount and pray for world peace when he arrives in Jerusalem next week for his first state visit.
“Alternatively, President Trump can choose to be a part of a process to bring the Messiah and unprecedented blessing to the world, in the same manner that King Cyrus played his part in building the Second Temple.”
Rabbi Dov Stein, the Secretary General of the Sanhedrin, explained that praying at the holy site is essential for President Trump to achieve his lofty goals.
Trump to announce Netanyahu-Abbas talks during Israel visit, report says / JNS.org, May 11, 2017
The London-based Arabic daily newspaper Al-Hayat reported Wednesday that President Donald Trump will announce the resumption of direct peace negotiations between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during the American leader’s visit to Israel this month.
A U.S.-Palestinian committee was already preparing for a second meeting between Abbas and Trump, who met for the first time May 3 at the White House, Palestinian officials told Al-Hayat.
The Palestinian officials said they anticipate Trump will announce direct Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, which will take place during the next year.
In his meeting with Trump at the White House, Abbas reportedly requested that the renewed peace talks be based upon the parameters of his negotiations with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert nearly a decade ago. Abbas reportedly presented Trump with maps and documents detailing the 2008 plan involving Olmert.
In the 2008 proposal, Olmert offered a near-complete Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria and eastern Jerusalem, and also suggested placing the Old City of Jerusalem under international control.
White House: Trump to push Palestinian ‘self-determination’ on Mideast trip / Times of Israel, May 12, 2017
Trump’s visit to Israel, which was officially announced last week, will take place from May 22 to 23 — just before Jerusalem Day — after he stops in Saudi Arabia and before he goes on to the Vatican. He will also travel to Brussels and Sicily for NATO and G7 summits on the final leg of his first foreign trip.
There has been speculation since Trump’s travel plans were announced that he would seek to facilitate a trilateral meeting with Netanyahu and Abbas.
When McMaster was asked if such a plan was in the works, he demurred. “It will be up to the president and those leaders,” he said.
Trump has already hosted both Netanyahu and Abbas at the White House, expressing optimism in his ability to succeed in brokering a peace deal where his three immediate predecessors have failed.
“It’s something that I think is, frankly, maybe not as difficult as people have thought over the years,” Trump told Abbas during their joint press conference. “We need two willing parties. We believe Israel is willing. We believe you’re willing. And if you are willing, we are going to make a deal.”
Cyrus the Great (around 600 B.C.) figures in the Hebrew Bible as the patron and deliverer of the Jews. He is mentioned 20 times by name and alluded to several times more. According to the Bible, in the first year of his reign he was prompted by God to make a decree that the Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt and that such Jews as cared to might return to their land for this purpose. Moreover, he showed his interest in the project by sending back with them the sacred vessels which had been taken from the First Temple and a considerable sum of money with which to buy building materials.
Donald Trump appears to be a modern day version of Cyrus the Great. As President of the United States, he is one of the most powerful leaders in human history. He wants to help Israel. This peace agreement would pave the way for the Temple to be rebuilt.
The Arab-Israeli Peace Initiative (or covenant) will be signed one way or another, and it will revolve around an initial 7 year security agreement.
What does the Bible say about this?
” Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.
” Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.
” And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”
What does Daniel’s prophesy mean?
A total of 70 “weeks” are determined for “thy people”, Daniel’s people, the Jews.
The reason we know that the 70th “week” lasts 7 years is that the 7 “weeks” and 62 “weeks” (a total of 69 “weeks”), which have already happened, lasted exactly 483 years = 69 weeks X 7 years/week. The Messiah made His triumphant entry into the City of Jerusalem (Mathew 21:8) exactly 483 years after the commandment of Artaxerxes to rebuild the temple, March 14, 445 B.C. Subsequently He was “cutoff”, crucified as recorded in Daniel 9:26. Please note that He was crucified after the 7 weeks and the 62 weeks. That is, He was crucified after the 69th week.
Since God said he would deal with the Jews as a nation for 70 “weeks” and He promised to regather them nationally in the future in preparation for His Coming, then, God plans to deal with the nation Israel for 1 “week” before He returns.
We believe that this Peace Treaty will begin the dark one “week” or 7 year period called the Tribulation, and that this will start very shortly. The Rapture will occur before then.
The agreement will be violated by Israel’s enemies half-way through the 7 years, and the Islamic leader will take the Lord’s place in the Temple and declare himself to be God. He is the Beast (or Antichrist).
What did Jesus Christ say about this “abomination of desolation”?
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
(1 Thessalonians 5:3)
We do not think it is a coincidence that the predicted “season” of the Lord’s return will also be the time of great distress on the Earth due to these catastrophic political events. The Lord knows that He needs to rescue His bride at this time.
I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealousand repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Rev 3:18-22)
