At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
Then He called a child to Him and had him stand among them. “I assure you,” He said, “unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child—this one is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:1-4)
As the disciples were jockeying for position, the Lord was showing them that the best attitude for them to have was one of a child – total dependence in complete humility. This was completely opposite of the religious hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the experts in the law.
To have faith like a child is not innocent ignorance, but is actually understanding and accepting the Good News, as written in the Holy Bible:
He gave the first people a garden paradise to live in…
but because of their rebellion they died spiritually and the Lord expelled them. This is known as the fall of Man. In time, the wickedness of man became great, and God destroyed them all by flooding the earth with water. During the flood, he saved Noah and his family.
Later, he gave them the law as a guide to right living…
but his ultimate solution was to send his son Jesus Christ…
to serve as the sacrifice and payment for all rebellion and sin.
He asks that people believe in Jesus Christ as his son, and accept him as their salvation.
Then, they will reclaim paradise, also known as the Kingdom of heaven.
To have child-like faith is to see that you really are God’s child, loved into existence through creation – and then loved back into his arms through His crucifixion and resurrection.
As God’s children, the Lord reveals more and more details of His Word to us. These are the secret things of God:
But as it is written:
What eye did not see and ear did not hear,
and what never entered the human mind—
God prepared this for those who love Him.
Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
The Dream / Rev. Donna G. Larson
I had a dream that there were steps leading up to Heaven in front of me in the night sky. I began to climb the stairs and fell off after a couple stairs and I would awaken.
I dreamed it many times, and each time I ascended a little higher. I was always desiring to reach the top. The higher I went, I began to see the outline of a door.
Finally I was at the top, and as I approached the door, it swung open wide. A great bright light shinned out of it. I had to walk, in faith, through the door, because it was so blinding. I entered the chamber!!! It was filled with the Glory of God and an Angel met me there.
I sat on a gold metal chair with red velvet padding (like one for a queen). The angel handed me a large white box (satin). When I open the lid, light shinned from inside! I took out to see what was in it, but it was an unseen gift (invisible). I said “Thank You. I love it!!! It’s always what I wanted!” I lifted it and put it to my heart and it melted into me.
Then I turn to him and said “but I want more!” (I wanted more of what God had for me.) It was then that I noticed another door on my right, so I got up and walked through it also.
Again, there was a red queen’s chair waiting for me, and an Angel of the Lord came and gave me another white box. When I opened it, The glory shinned out of it, and I took the invisible gift. I put it to my heart and told the Angel how much I loved it. But that I wanted more. Again I saw another door to my right which I proceeded to go through.
This went on, over and over, for many doors. I don’t know how many.
I realized later that the Angel was Jesus Himself and that He was giving me secret things from Him to me!!! Praise the Lord!!! All glory belongs to Him!!! Not I, but Christ in me!!! The gifts are the secret things, hidden in the Word of God, that are revealed.
We are the Bride. Faithfully to Jesus Only! The New Jerusalem is the wedding gift!!! After the supper, He will roll back the veil!!!
I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelation 21:2)
Both the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Anyone who hears should say, “Come!” And the one who is thirsty should come. Whoever desires should take the living water as a gift. (Revelation 22:17)
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
If you are not sure that you are saved, you can accept Christ into your life right now, by praying:
“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior.”
