Armageddon Alarms: Dividing the Land

To anyone who pays attention to world events and history, the moves against Israel at the end of 2016 should be setting off Armageddon alarms. For all the troubles in the world, it seems little Israel is at the center of the discussions. Truly, Jerusalem is a heavy stone for all the peoples:

“Look, I will make Jerusalem a cup that causes staggering for the peoples who surround the city… On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who try to lift it will injure themselves severely when all the nations of the earth gather against her.“

(Zechariah 12:2 – 3)

Some 3,500 years ago the Canaanites inhabited the land that God promised to give to the offspring of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God promised that He would give the land of Israel to the Jewish people as an eternal possession. The promise was unconditional. God confirmed it at least 55 times with an oath and stated at least 12 times that the covenant was everlasting.

U.N. Security Council demands end to Israeli settlements, U.S. abstains / Reuters, December 24, 2016

The United States on Friday allowed the U.N. Security Council to adopt a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements, defying pressure from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, Israel and some U.S. lawmakers who urged Washington to wield its veto.

An abstention by the United States paved the way for the 15-member council to approve the resolution, with 14 votes in favor, to a round of applause.

Abbas welcomes UN resolution, calls on Israel to talk peace / Times of Israel, December 25, 2016

“The world said its word that settlement in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, including East Jerusalem, is illegal,” Abbas said Saturday night, according to a translation of his remarks posted by Xinhua.

The Palestinian leader called on Israel “to sit together at the negotiation table to discuss all the outstanding issues between us and resolve them with good intentions… we are neighbors on this holy land and we want peace.

“You (Israel) have your state, and we can have our state, and then we can live side-by-side in peace and security,” he continued, going on to invoke the Arab Peace Initiative, under which 57 Arab and Islamic countries would normalize relations with Israel should it reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Secretary of State John Kerry Drafting UN Resolution Recognizing “State of Palestine” / SuperStation95, Dec 26, 2016

Secretary of State John Kerry has been working on the text of the Resolution at the UN, formally recognizing the “State of Palestine” and it will use the 1967 Israel Border to establish Palestine’s physical boundaries. SuperStation95 has learned from our UN sources here in New York that the Resolution will contain an authorization for the use of force to compel Israeli compliance, and will be introduced (and voted on) before Barack Obama leaves office.

The Arab-Israeli conflict has gone on for decades and sources in the UN say the Security Council is “fed-up” with the stalemate. Sources confirm there is a consensus among Security Council members that only an outside force can bring the situation to an end. The inclusion of a use-of-force element to the resolution is described as “a necessary evil given the parties involved.”

Settlements, not UN resolutions, weaken and isolate Israel / DEBKAfile, December 28, 2016

In his speech on Wednesday at the State Department, outgoing US Secretary of State John Kerry reiterated his country’s call for a two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and criticized Israel’s control of Judea and Samaria, which he called a “military occupation”, as well as the inability of Palestinians to travel freely within those areas or into Israel. He spoke at length on the disadvantages of a single state and the risk he said it would pose to Palestinians, Israelis, the entire region and American interests. During the entire speech he repeatedly blasted Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria, claiming that there is no connection between security and the settlements. He claimed that the existence of the settlements, not UN resolutions, is weakening Israel.

“In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My inheritance, My people Israel, for they scattered My people among the nations and divided up My land.”

(Joel 3:1-2)

We have entered into a serious time since our present President has not vetoed the UN initiative, to cause a two state division in the Middle East. This is a clear violation of the Covenant between Israel and the God of the Universe. This not only divides the land of Israel, it causes the people living in the homes they built, the land they restored from desert and the factories and shops they built and maintained – to leave all of this intact and vacate it with nothing. This diabolical plan demands that Jerusalem be divided, including the precious sites of both the Jews and Christians alike – to be turned over to the Muslims from the pronounced draft by John Kerry to the UN and all the world.

This will be completely backed by Obama who is said to have initiated this to happen before he leaves office. Israel has always had the United States of America as its ally and most certainly still needs it to be so. Israel and its PM have announced it will not be moved by this ratification. This is a time for every Christian and Jew to pray and ask our Father in Heaven, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to intervene and to have mercy on Israel. Just as much we must ask for mercy and a turning point for our United States of America because of the decisions that our President has chosen for us – despite the outcry and his direct lack of adherence to the promise to Israel to protect and defend her. We must take this time to seek the Lord and ask how He would have us pray.

Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in Heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. I Chronicles 29:11-14 Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, Oh seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth, Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The Covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting Covenant, Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance,” I Chronicles 16:8-19
