I gave you absolutely nothing to eat
in all your cities,
a shortage of food in all your communities,
yet you did not return to Me.
This is the Lord’s declaration.
I also withheld the rain from you
while there were still three months until harvest.
I sent rain on one city
but no rain on another.
One field received rain
while a field with no rain withered.
Two or three cities staggered
to another city to drink water
but were not satisfied,
yet you did not return to Me.
This is the Lord’s declaration. (Amos 4:6-8)
Half of China hit by drought, rice crops threatened in worst heatwave on record / The Times of Israel, August 25, 2022
EIJING, China — A crippling drought exacerbated by a record heat wave has spread out across half of China and reached the normally frigid Tibetan Plateau, according to official data released ahead of more searing temperatures on Thursday.
The world’s second-largest economy has been hit by heatwaves, flash floods and droughts — phenomena that scientists say are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change.
Southern China has recorded its longest continuous period of high temperatures since records began more than 60 years ago, the agriculture ministry said this week.
Experts have said the intensity, scope and duration of the heatwave could make it one of the worst recorded in global history.
A chart from the National Climate Centre showed Wednesday that swaths of southern China — including the Tibetan Plateau — were experiencing “severe” to “extraordinary” drought conditions.
Europe is in its worst drought in 500 years, study finds / Yahoo News, August 27, 2022
LONDON – Europe is facing its worst drought in 500 years, with two-thirds of the continent under a “warning” or “alert,” a study by the European Commission has discovered.
Preliminary data from the European Drought Observatory found that 47% of Europe is under warning conditions, meaning the soil has a clear deficit of moisture. An additional 17% of the continent is in a state of alert, meaning vegetation is under stress.
Across Europe, hot, dry conditions have threatened livestock and increased crop failure. According to the report, grain yields are expected to fall 16% below the average for the past five years. Forecasts for soybean and sunflower yields are also set to fall by 15% and 12%, respectively.
Wildfires have been a problem elsewhere in Europe and have displaced thousands of people. Electrical blackouts and heat-related deaths have also surfaced in the past two months.
The extreme weather is unlikely to stop. In 2020, a U.N. agency predicted that annual global temperatures would be at least 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than preindustrial levels in each of the next five years.
Over three quarters of U.S. states experiencing some form of drought / The Hill, July 12, 2022
There are 40 states that are currently experiencing some form of drought, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
The most severe drought conditions are in the Western part of the country in states like Texas, California and Arizona, where the extreme heat and lack of rainfall has caused water levels at Lake Mead to recede so much at least two human skeletons and a sunken WW2 era vessel have been found in parts of the now-exposed bottom.
Americans living in states not impacted by drought conditions should still be concerned since a stressed water supply in one area can have a ripple effect impacting neighboring states or large swaths of the country, according to Jonathan London, associate professor of human ecology at the University of California, Davis.
“What happens in one state affects many others both in terms of food and in infrastructure,” said London.
For example, farms in the San Joaquin Valley in central California grow a quarter of the country’s food so a drought in that area means less food to ship out to cities across the country.
Dryer grasslands and forests boosts the chances of wildfires, which can in turn hurt the air quality by increasing exposure to harmful pollutants or altering air pollution patterns, one study found.
1 big thing: Water
The man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed.
He will be like a tree planted by water:
it sends its roots out toward a stream,
it doesn’t fear when heat comes,
and its foliage remains green.
It will not worry in a year of drought
or cease producing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Water makes up 60-75% of human body weight. A loss of just 4% of total body water leads to dehydration, and a loss of 15% can be fatal. Likewise, a person could survive a month without food but wouldn’t survive 3 days without water. This crucial dependence on water broadly governs all life forms. Clearly water is vital for survival, but what makes it so necessary?
Well, there are several reasons, but they all hinge on water’s unique chemical properties. Water molecules have unusual chemical and physical properties. Water can exist in all three states of matter at the same time: liquid, gas, and solid.
Very few other chemical substances can exist in all these physical states in this close of a temperature range.
Another unique property of water is its ability to dissolve a large variety of chemical substances. It dissolves salts and other ionic compounds, as well as polar covalent compounds such as alcohols and organic acids.
Water is sometimes called the universal solvent because it can dissolve so many things. It can also absorb a large amount of heat, which allows large bodies of water to help moderate the temperature on earth.
Water is a dipole and acts like a magnet, with the oxygen end having a negative charge and the hydrogen end having a positive charge. These charged ends can attract other water molecules. This attraction between the molecules is an intermolecular force (force between different molecules).
Water’s importance as a supportive base substance led the Nobel Prize-winning biologist Albert von Szent-Györgyi to describe it as life’s “matrix, mother and medium”, while the science writer and physicist Philip Ball wrote this of biology: “You could be forgiven for concluding that the subject is all about proteins and genes, embodied in DNA. But this is only a form of shorthand; for biology is really all about the interactions of such molecules in and with water.”
To summarize, water is vital for all life. Its versatility and adaptability help perform important chemical reactions. Its simple molecular structure helps maintain important shapes for cells’ inner components and outer membrane. No other molecule matches water when it comes to unique properties that support life.
We need water!
What the Holy Bible says about drought
If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to consume the land, or if I send pestilence on My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:13-14)
The bottom line: Our Prayer
O God, we sincerely repent of our personal and national sins. We repent of the sins of omission as well as commission. These sins include idolatry, murder, anger, stubbornness, dishonesty, corruption, greed, sloth, lust, envy, compromise, fear, gluttony, gossip, hypocrisy, impurity, ingratitude, profanity, stealing, unforgiveness, untruthfulness, worldliness, worry and the ultimate sin of Pride. We take no solace in the fact that some of us may not have personally embraced sins such as abortion or marriage redefinition BUT by apathy or indifference have allowed evil to flourish.
We have not followed Your Biblical mandate to submit to You, obey Your Holy Commandments and resist the Devil. Nor have we had a zeal to repent which invites You to commune with us, enabling us to become overcomers who will sit with You on Your throne.
O Mighty God, Your fingerprints are scattered across all of creation. Through each thing You have created, You show Your glory. Your caring and gentle nature are on display for all to see and experience. You open the heavens and bring the waters down from above. Lord, this very day we ask that You open the flood gates. Bring down nourishing rains, that the land may be quenched and bring forth much fruit. Amen.
Going deeper: The Living Water
A woman of Samaria came to draw water.
“Give Me a drink,” Jesus said to her, for His disciples had gone into town to buy food.
“How is it that You, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked Him. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.
Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”
“Sir,” said the woman, “You don’t even have a bucket, and the well is deep. So where do You get this ‘living water’? You aren’t greater than our father Jacob, are You? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and livestock.”
Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.” (John 4:7-14)
Jesus was offering more than just abundant water. He offered living water. Living water, mayim chaim (MY-eem KHY-eem) in Hebrew, is water from a natural and moving or flowing source. It is not stagnant, not carried by man, not held in cisterns or a pond.
On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink! The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.” He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been received because Jesus had not yet been glorified. (John 7:37-39)
Mayim chaim is water bubbling from a spring, flowing in a river, and falling rain. It is life-giving, clean water. It is water that washes.
In Jesus’s day, the water in the mikvah baths used for ritual cleansing before entering the temple was living water. In fact, mikvah’s used for ritual cleansing by Orthodox Jews today are still required to be sourced in part by living water. Living water is the flowing natural-sourced water that cleanses, and in the Hebrew Scriptures of the Old Testament, living water depicts the presence of God.
Here Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the living water. External influence of the Spirit had always been given in the conversion and sanctification of the Old Testament saints and prophets, but the gift of the Spirit who would indwell believers had not yet been received (Acts 10:44–45). So, though many people say that Jesus is the living water, Jesus Himself intended the phrase to mean the Holy Spirit who dwells in believers and seals them for salvation (Ephesians 1:13–14).
It is the ministry of the Spirit, flowing out of a heart redeemed by God, that blesses believers and, through them, brings life and light to the world.
If you are not sure that you are saved, you can accept Christ into your life right now, by praying:
“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior.”

Set my heart to be a martyr.
Prepare to be persecuted like I have never experienced before.
Focus on the promises that Jesus said in Revelation 2+3. (depending on which church you fall into)
Set food aside for disruption of supply. (although I believe I shall be killed before really needing survival rations)
Call for Christ followers to get more oil for their lamps. (5 wise vs 5 foolish virgins)
Cry out “Even so, Come, Lord Jesus”. (Rev 20b)

Well the scientists are warning about the effects of global warming. And if they are correct then it’s not just drought that will plague the world. It is severe weather, from droughts to floods and other severe weather.
We just had 5 of the 1 in 1,000 year floods in the past 5 weeks or so here in the USA.

You have a stake in our mission. You can help us reach millions around the world – literally the “ends of the earth” – for Jesus Christ.
For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
Eagles Arise International Ministries provides eschatology-related information to the global community – through the Rapture and End Times website.
Millions of people around the world turn to God every day for answers. They’re looking for truth, for something that can fill their emptiness and make them whole again; they ask questions like: ‘Do I matter? ‘Is there a God?’ ‘What’s my purpose in life?’
Multi-million dollar question: what does it cost to put on a mass evangelism event like Billy Graham’s crusades? You have to rent a stadium, advertise your event, and hire people to help you setup and tear down. Plus, you’ll need to coordinate hundreds of volunteers to help.
But, even people in poverty-stricken countries can now afford a relatively cheap phone or tablet. It doesn’t matter what they buy, all these devices will be capable and functional enough to give them an accurate presentation on who He really was–and continues being today!
When Jesus gave the commandment, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation,’ the disciples were on foot. There was no television, no radio, no airplanes, and certainly no internet. The difference between 2,000 years ago and today is immense! Not only do we have Web technology at our disposal but also social media platforms where people from around the world come together online every day looking for answers.
The internet is a powerful tool that we can use to reach people with the Gospel. It can be used in so many ways to reach people all over the world, and it’s only getting better with each passing day! We reach millions effectively across cultures and demographics – without geographical boundaries!
What if you could change someone’s life with just one message? That is what we strive for here at Rapture and End Times. We want to meet people in their moment of need, and give them hope when they desperately need it most!
We are expanding our mission field to reach people we might never have the chance of touching in person. They need to know that Jesus Christ is the only One who gives us true purpose and fulfills our greatest need.
With dark forces arrayed against us, we must be ever-watchful for the return of our Lord. At this crucial moment in history it is more important than ever that Christians have freedom to express their beliefs without fear. We are independent and can’t be cancelled. The need for fact-based Biblical analysis with an international perspective on critical events has never been greater. When you support Rapture and End Times, you support Christian freedom of expression at a time when it’s under direct attack.
We are in the final moments. We have a chance to reach people before it is too late! There’s never been a better opportunity to preach the gospel than right now, before our access expires! 44,000 people perish each day without hearing the Good News. Please lend your support by donating today so God can bring eternal life through His Son.
Every day, we struggle and fight to keep this ministry going! We will be so grateful that you want in on this with us–we truly value each one of our donors’ contributions.
