End Times News: the Wise, the Foolish, and the Wicked

Wise Foolish and Wicked ani

Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. (Proverbs 4:7)

The book of Proverbs in the Bible contains many teachings about the wise, the foolish, and the wicked. These three categories of people are often contrasted with one another to illustrate the consequences of different choices and destinies.

.

The Wise

The wise are characterized by their knowledge, understanding, and ability to make good choices. They are often contrasted with the foolish and the wicked, and Proverbs encourages people to seek wisdom and understanding in order to become wise.

‘Revival Is in the Air’: New Reports of Spiritual Awakening as Huge Event Slated for April Faithwire, March 10, 2023

usrevivaltracker

The outpouring that began with the Asbury Awakening is reaching more young people as it marches on to both Christian and secular university campuses, churches, and youth events literally from one end of the country to another.

As CBN News has reported, what some have referred to as a potential new great awakening within Christian history started as a spark on the campus of Asbury University, where thousands of Christians gathered for two weeks of Spirit-led worship, prayer, and repentance. That unplanned outpouring is raising hopes because a previous revival in 1970 on the Asbury campus was seen as a significant driver behind the Jesus Movement of the ’70s.

During a telephone interview with Fox News on Monday, California Pastor Samuel Rodriguez said it’s no accident that Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, played host to a Christian revival with thousands of people just as the film Jesus Revolution hit theaters.

“If you were a skeptic,” Rodriguez, the senior pastor at New Season Church in Sacramento, said, “you would label this as a coincidence. But if you’re a person of faith — you see this as divine providence. It can’t be a coincidence.”

He added, “God is in charge. God is up to something. And that’s the great news.”

Rodriguez told Fox this is not just about the Asbury revival. “It’s what’s happening across the country,” he said.

Disney Star Shares Christian Faith at Kids Choice Awards The Gateway Pundit, March 7, 2023

While Disney enthusiastically embraces a woke agenda, one of their young stars took time to declare his faith in Jesus Christ when accepting an award during Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday night.

Joshua Bassett is one of the stars of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” on Disney+

Last month, Bassett shared a video of his baptism declaring Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

“My name is Joshua and long story short, I grew up Christian and I ran the other way as far as I could go in pursuit of ‘truth’ and that only ended in addiction, depression and suicidal ideation, eating disorders etc. And no other teacher gave me anywhere near the peace that Jesus Christ did…and I am here to publicly declare him as my Lord and Savior.”

Saturday night, Bassett accepted the award for “Favorite Male TV star” at Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

In his speech, Bassett shared, “I’d love to thank my Savior, Jesus Christ.I want to say something. There are a lot of people here who are burdened, broken-hearted, and have been beated down by life”

“I’m here to tell you— for those of you who’ve lost hope, there’s a very real God who loves you more than you will ever possibly know. His promise is peace and my testimony is my healing.”

“Remember: Forgive quickly, love freely and walk courageously. Love always wins in the end.”

Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. (Proverbs 4:7)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. (Proverbs 13:1)

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. (Proverbs 12:15)

A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might. (Proverbs 24:5)

Overall, Proverbs encourages people to seek wisdom and understanding in order to become wise, to avoid following in the ways of the foolish, and to turn away from the paths of the wicked. By making good choices and following God’s commands, people can live a righteous and fulfilling life.

.

The Foolish

The foolish are characterized by their lack of understanding and their tendency to make poor choices. They are often contrasted with the wise, and Proverbs warns against following in their footsteps.

Biblical worldview ‘much closer to extinction’ after COVID-19 lockdowns: survey Christian Post, March 5, 2023

World Citizen

The vast majority of Americans — 96 percent — do not hold to a biblical worldview following the COVID-19 lockdowns, according to a new survey.

Calling it a “significant change” in Americans’ worldview, the Cultural Research Center of Arizona Christian University led by researcher George Barna found in its survey that the lockdowns impacted the already-dwindling number of people who claim to hold a biblical worldview.

In what Barna called the first national study of its kind, the incidence of biblical worldview declined to a mere 4%, down one-third from the 6% recorded just months before the pandemic lockdowns started in March 2020.

“Americans tinkered with many things during the three lockdown years — from home-improvement projects to baking sourdough bread — but improving their worldview apparently was not one of them,” Barna wrote.

A biblical worldview, the survey said, is one in which the entirety of a person’s “ideas about all dimensions of life and eternity are based on biblical principles and commands.”

The data — which was part of a survey that began in 2020 known as the American Worldview Inventory (AWVI), which evaluates the worldview of the U.S. adult population — also found the pandemic fueled a decline in biblical worldview even among those who identify as born-again Christians, from 19% pre-pandemic to 13% post-pandemic.

Using a metric that measures worldview segments across three categories, the AWVI showed the bulk of the American public falls into what it calls the World Citizen category, those who may embrace some biblical truth but “believe and behave in ways that are distinct from biblical teaching.”

While 82% are in the World Citizen category, only 69% identified as such in 2020, marking a sharp jump in the number of Americans drifting from exclusively biblical teaching.

28 girls hospitalized with ‘anxiety’ after playing with Ouija board New York Post, March 7, 2023

ouija

They’re not in good spirits.

Nearly 30 schoolgirls have been hospitalized with anxiety attacks after allegedly playing with Ouija boards at their school in Colombia.

“There were 28 possible cases of anxiety in school students,” said Hugo Torres, head of the Galeras Educational Institution in Galeras, where the incident took place, per Jam Press.

According to the outlet, alarm bells went off after the girls reportedly suffered signs of fainting, anxiety and other symptoms at school. They were subsequently admitted to a municipal hospital accompanied by parents and school faculty.

Info on the students’ diagnoses has yet to be released, however many parents blame the in-school use of Ouija boards, a Jumanji-esque pursuit that uses a sliding pointer to spell out messages in a mysterious way. Created in the US in 1886, Ouija boards have become a fixture in occult lore due to their alleged ability to communicate with the dead.

.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. (Proverbs 18:2)

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. (Proverbs 12:15)

A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. (Proverbs 18:6)

A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. (Proverbs 18:7)

Overall, Proverbs teaches that the foolish lack understanding and wisdom, and often act rashly and foolishly. The foolish person is characterized by a lack of desire for knowledge, a tendency to speak without thinking, and a lack of self-control. In contrast, the wise person seeks knowledge, listens to advice, and exercises self-control.

.

The Wicked

The wicked are characterized by their evil behavior and their refusal to follow God’s commands. They are often contrasted with the righteous, and Proverbs warns against associating with them or following in their ways.

The insane new religion that has taken over America WND, February 27, 2023

Wokeism - 2

Although one would never guess it based on the increasingly vicious and open attacks on Christians by this nation’s ruling elites, America was for many generations the most Christian nation on earth – the true secret of its greatness.

In fact, Christianity has unquestionably been the most powerful, consequential and benevolent force in all of world history. Nothing else even comes close.

Yet today, in the United States of America, a new religion has somehow become the country’s de facto official church.

Mind you, this new faith is not like a religion; it’s not cult-like. It’s a complete and total life religion, influencing every aspect of the true believer’s existence. And right now, it is being forcibly imposed on the entire American populace by virtually every major societal institution, from government, media and big tech; to academia (preschool through grad school); to entertainment and sports; and perhaps most surprisingly of all, by most of this nation’s biggest and wealthiest businesses.

Wokeism - 3

This new state religion overtaking the United States of America – and increasingly, much of the Western (and formerly Christian) world – is Wokeism.

To most outsiders, the expression “being woke,” or “going woke,” conjures up notions of a person or entity claiming to be acutely sensitive (“awake”) to “systemic social and political injustice” in every form. The “injustice” being condemned by Wokeism is not simply alleged widespread bigotry against black people, but also – as noted in Joe Biden’s Jan. 20, 2021 White House Executive Order – “Latino and Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; persons who live in rural areas; and persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality.” Of course, the “persons who live in rural areas” bit was thrown in as a cynical pretense of caring about blue-collar, working-class, mostly Trump-supporting Americans, when the elites couldn’t care less about them, as their deplorable non-response to the toxic disaster in rural East Palestine, Ohio, demonstrates.) On the other hand, rest assured that the expansive “LGBTQ+” population includes every child-grooming “trans” school teacher, purple-haired, heavily pierced, “nonbinary” TikTok recruiter and mentally ill cross-dresser seducing your toddler in “drag queen story hour” events.

Bear in mind that all of these people, deemed victims of societal bigotry, are therefore regarded as intrinsically more virtuous and moral than the shameful oppressor class – primarily heterosexual white Christian males.

Wokeism

This new “woke” consciousness is manifesting in dramatic ways – from the nationwide Antifa and Black Lives Matter race riots that decimated countless major U.S. cities during the summer of 2020, to the desecration of long-cherished historic monuments. From insisting on multi-million-dollar reparation payments for every black person in America, to appointing men who claim they’re women as top officials in the Biden administration. From Disney producers gleefully boasting on camera how they’re secretly “injecting queerness” into children’s programming, to the U.S. military imposing mandatory “diversity training” and transgender pronoun use on all personnel, causing recruitment to disastrously plummet. From top college and professional athletic organizations permitting and encouraging biological men to compete in women’s athletics – essentially destroying women’s sports – to incarcerating convicted men who suddenly claim they’re women in women’s prisons, resulting unsurprisingly in a rape epidemic in those correctional facilities.

Most ubiquitously of all, there is the rampant racial discrimination in employment, college admissions and every other area of life, as seen in today’s mass corporate embrace of DEI, or “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,” which, stripped of its sanctimony and guilt, amounts to hiring people based on their skin color rather than their qualifications. Not only is such racial discrimination both immoral and flagrantly illegal – remember the 1964 Civil Rights Act? – but it’s also killing people. That’s what happens when, for example, you hire airline pilots and surgeons based on their skin color, rather than their abilities. And it’s happening everywhere.

Unlike in the biblical account, wherein Original Sin consisted of the first man and woman’s disobedience to God in the Garden of Eden, according to Wokeist theology Original Sin consisted of predatory straight white Christians abusing and exploiting “people of color.” Today, this ongoing sinfulness comprises not just actual racism – as manifested in slavery and later segregation, which America long ago repented of and definitively outlawed – but also mysterious and elusive modern-day phenomena like “systemic” or “institutional” racism, as well as “white privilege,” a spiritual condition that renders people who aren’t even the slightest bit racist as still guilty of racism, just for being white.

That is the universal and transcendent power of the religion of Wokeism.

The Satanic Temple dedicating ‘largest satanic gathering in history’ to Boston mayor, will require masks Fox News, January 8, 2023

baphomet

The Satanic Temple is dedicating the “largest satanic gathering in history” to Democratic Boston Mayor Michelle Wu after the group wasn’t allowed to deliver a satanic invocation at Boston City Hall. SatanCon 2023 will take place in downtown Boston April 28-30.

The theme of the gathering in celebration of The Satanic Temple’s 10-year anniversary is “Hexennacht in Boston,” German for “Witches’ Night,” which marks the ancient pagan holiday of May Eve.

TST denies belief in a personal devil, claiming its mission is “to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits.”

The Satanic Temple drew national attention in December for the firestorm that roiled Chesapeake, Virginia, when the organization applied to establish an After School Satan Club for kids at the local B.M. Williams Primary School.

The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness. (Proverbs 15:9)

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1)

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but gracious words are pure. (Proverbs 15:26)

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand. (Proverbs 12:7)

The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. (Proverbs 10:27)

Overall, Proverbs teaches that the wicked are those who act in opposition to God’s commands and pursue evil. They are characterized by their disregard for righteousness, their tendency to act in fear and selfishness, and their eventual downfall. In contrast, the righteous pursue God’s commands and are characterized by their boldness, purity, and long life.

Proverbs 16:18 famously warns, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Throughout Proverbs, there are reminders to be humble, to seek advice and guidance from others, and to avoid boasting or arrogance.

The Bible says our earthly lives are a “mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14). Our earthly sojourn is exceedingly brief. Perhaps the greatest lesson to learn from this story, then, is that when death comes knocking on our door there is only one thing that matters: our relationship with Jesus Christ. “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?” (Matthew 16:26; Mark 8:36).

Tools like Artificial Intelligence and the Internet confuse us into believing knowledge is wisdom

Google manages over 15 Exabytes of data. One exabyte is one quintillion bytes (1,152,921,504,606,846,976) and is a massive amount of information.

But, knowledge is not wisdom.

Knowledge is the accumulation of information. Wisdom the quality of person to think, act or discern what is best, right, true and enduring. It is the application of common sense, knowledge and experience, at the right time, place, manner and situation so as to follow the best possible course of action.

The Internet has endless knowledge, but how do we search for wisdom?

Where then does wisdom come from,
and where is understanding located?
It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing
and concealed from the birds of the sky.
Abaddon and Death say,
“We have heard news of it with our ears.”

But God understands the way to wisdom,
and He knows its location.
For He looks to the ends of the earth
and sees everything under the heavens.

What do the wise focus on?

Over seven centuries ago, Thomas Aquinas summed up what western civilization understood to be the natural debt of gratitude all human beings owe to God, family, and country.

Thomas Aquinas

“Man becomes a debtor to other men in various ways, according to their various excellence and the various benefits received from them . . . the principles of our being and government are our parents and our country, that have given us birth and nourishment. Consequently man is debtor chiefly to his parents and his country, after God. Wherefore just as it belongs to religion to give worship to God, so does it belong to piety, in the second place, to give worship to one’s parents and one’s country.”

The premise is that we all owe debts based on what we have freely received. The “principles of our being and government,” or that from and out of which our very lives and way of life arise and exist, are our parents and our country. The form of government in which we are born, no less than our parents, give us our existence and allow us to maintain it, all while shaping our character, or who we are and can become.

Thus the extent to which we are all debtors to the Founders is hard to fathom. Nearly every earthly good we possess—and thanks to their notion of religious freedom, nearly every spiritual good as well—is in some way ours by means of and within the regime the Founders wrought.

We are not usually able to directly repay, nor even fully understand, the breadth nor depth of what we have received from those who have nourished and taught us, never mind those who in some real way have sacrificed for us, sometimes to the point of death. We are often left with the attempt to give what we received from those who cared for us to those under our own care. This form of giving is often the only way open to us to pay our debts in this life. It also why gratitude entails giving and receiving properly. We learn and can actually grow in generosity by receiving it.

Love of God

Christian leaders encourage love of God as first and foremost, for when a person has a right relationship with God, they are much more likely to place importance on family and the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Jesus stated in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.” So by placing God first, everything else falls into the proper order.

man worship ani

In order to emphasize God first, we seek to model Christ-centered relationships and living. Our desire being that seeking God first would permeate every aspect of our citizens lives: from what they choose to read and watch, to how they treat their friends and acquaintances both in person and on social media, how they decide for whom to vote, how they choose to spend their time and with whom, how they spend their money, honoring God with their bodies, etc. If this is to be accomplished, the people must be given ample opportunity to question, discuss, and debate all aspects of Christianity and be exposed to other religions and world views, while being directed towards the truth of scripture. They must be given reason for their faith rather than simply being told what to believe. The goal being that our citizens would avoid compartmentalizing their faith and allow it to penetrate and flourish in every crevice of their heart, soul, mind and life.

.

Love of Family

Love of Family is second, for it is critically important that families partner with their church and school to emphasize placing God first in their children’s lives. Strong families are essential to society.

family-bible-study

Healthy families are the best means of providing all citizens the confidence to reach out beyond themselves and to take risks, to provide praise and encouragement to people in their work and in the development of their faith. Godly families are necessary to provide a robust model of Godly living.

.

Love of Country

Love of Country is third. Our country’s founding documents confirm political, economic, social and most importantly, religious freedom. The country’s founders recognized that God is the source of rights, not the government, and that all citizens have the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

america leader of free world

These freedoms must be vigilantly and intentionally preserved by the citizens of this country. Therefore, emphasis is placed on responsible citizenship and what is entailed in maintaining the freedoms we enjoy in this country.

.

This is wisdom

God, Family, Country. When each is valued and ordered correctly, freedom in Christ is more likely to reign and endure.
