Rapture and End Times

I have asked one thing from the Lord;
it is what I desire:
to dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
gazing on the beauty of the Lord
and seeking Him in His temple.
For He will conceal me in His shelter
in the day of adversity;
He will hide me under the cover of His tent;
He will set me high on a rock. (Psalm 27:4-5)

There are many types of storms effecting us now. Some current “storms” include:

‘Preppers’ Quietly Stock Up for the ‘Perfect Storm’ / The Epoch Times, August 10, 2021

A crippling ice storm that left Travis Maddox and thousands of other Missouri residents without power in 2007 had an “almost apocalyptic feel to it.”

“No one could move. It just shut the whole region down for two weeks. I wasn’t as prepared as I thought,” said Maddox, a burly man of 43, sporting a long black beard, T-shirt, cargo pants, and baseball cap, while tending his garden.

Those two weeks made Maddox realize that being prepared—“prepping,” as it’s called today—was the key to a life of self-reliance and personal freedom.

As an Eagle Scout, he never forgot the Boy Scout motto: Be prepared.

“To me, the ultimate level of prepping is being self-sufficient. You’re still being modern, but you’re in control,” Maddox told The Epoch Times on Aug. 5.

In 2009, Maddox launched his YouTube channel, “The Prepared Homestead,” which now has over 32,000 subscribers.

People, he said, are waking up to the worsening reality of supply chain disruptions and food shortages, and rapid political and social changes that all point toward “a perfect storm” just ahead.

The COVID-19 lockdowns and empty store shelves only served to heighten popular sentiment that the “old normal” is gone, he said.

“When the pandemic struck, we started seeing all this panic buying,” Maddox said. “What’s really increased is the number of people that contact me. These are really personal emails. They’re not crazy extremists. These are single moms, elderly people, disabled people, regular working people. They’re realizing that things are changing. They can just feel things are changing rapidly,” he said.

“The riots [of 2020] were bad. The election was bad. Now what’s happening is the whole world is starting to change.”

Talk of a global political and economic “Great Reset” and vaccine passports have done little to diminish anxiety among the unvaccinated that society is about to turn its back on them. And so they and others prepare—with food, water, alternative power sources, survival gear, and plans to leave the city if possible for the relative safety of rural areas.

“A huge portion of our country is saying you’ve gone too far,” Maddox said. “We’re seeing not just a rapid change in politics and policies and the economy, we’re seeing a rapid change in the heart and soul of America.”

Society Still on Track for Global Collapse As Predicted in 1972 / Medium, July 24, 2021

A report from the 1970s predicted a global collapse would occur sometime around the 2040s. A new reassessment of this report has indicated that the world is right on track for such an event. The original report stemmed from a bestselling book entitled The Limits to Growth published in 1972.

At that time, a group of MIT scientists emphasized how industrial civilization was sure to burst at the seams and eventually collapse due to the zeal at which corporations and governments continue to seek constant economic growth — at any cost.

The most infamous scenario from the report was the Business as Usual scenario. This outlook predicted a peak of the world’s economic growth would take place around the 2040s. A sharp downturn would follow the peak in the world’s economy.

As one might imagine, we would see a drop in global population, natural resources, and food availability. While this imminent collapse would not signal an end to the human race, it would serve as a turning point in society. A turning point that would witness a severe drop in the world’s overall living standards — one that would last for decades.

After almost half a century has passed since these MIT researchers shared their forecasts, and now many wonder how world conditions today compare with them.

A sustainability and dynamic system analysis researcher from KPMG (a consulting firm) named Gaya Herrington decided to find out. It began with research that she conducted as a graduate student at Harvard University. The research included the analysis of the original 1972 MIT predictions compared to the most up-to-date real-world data.

Herrington discovered that the world’s current state, as indicated through ten different variables such as pollution levels, fertility rates, population, industrial output, and food production, aligned remarkably close with two of the 1972 collapse scenarios. One of which was the Business as Usual scenario.

Learning that critical variables of today are still in correlation with those doomsday collapse scenarios from the original 1972 findings is very disturbing.

It would be one thing if the recent findings were on an island unto itself, but this is not the case. With a bit of research, we can easily find other studies and results that pretty much substantiate the 1972 findings as well.

As deadly weather disasters sweep globe, is a 1.5°C warming target impossible? The Times of Israel, August 7, 2021

PARIS (AFP) — Can humanity drag down greenhouse gas emissions fast enough to prevent Earth’s surface from warming more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above mid-19th century levels?

That question looms larger than all others as 195 nations tussle over the UN’s first comprehensive scientific assessment of climate change since 2014, to be released Monday.

And if we can, will we?

It is hard to exaggerate how urgent and politically charged these questions have become.

“We need to make sure that we keep 1.5°C within reach,” UK minister and president of the critical COP26 climate summit in November, Alok Sharma, told AFP earlier this year, leaving no doubt that success at Glasgow would be measured against that yardstick.

An unbroken cascade of deadly, unprecedented weather disasters — bulked up by global warming — has swept across three continents since mid-June.

Asphalt-melting North American heatwaves in regions considered too temperate for air conditioning; diluvial rainfall tearing apart German towns and drowning big-city commuters trapped on the underground in central China; untamable wildfires fueled by drought — decades of dire climate predictions are suddenly a here-and-now reality.

And that’s with average global warming of only 1.1°C so far.

So has humanity dithered too long to keep the 1.5°C dream alive?

There is little doubt that the planet will reach that marker — and sooner than previously thought, according to sources who have seen the penultimate draft of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) text under negotiation at a plenary this week.

“There is definitely a difference of opinion among scientists about whether the 1.5°C target is reachable,” Tim Lenton, director of the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter and an authority on climate tipping points, told AFP.

“Limiting climate change to 1.5°C is now virtually impossible,” top scientists — including many IPCC authors — wrote, adding that even “well under 2°C” would require a Herculean effort.

The reaction was fast and furious.

“Scientifically speaking, humanity can still limit global warming to 1.5°C this century,” a quartet of A-list atmospheric physicists and modelers pushed back in a commentary.

“Political action will determine whether it actually does. Conflating the two questions amounts to misplaced punditry, and is dangerous.”

Are things really that bad? All you have to do is look out your window.

We are living on a dying planet. Soon, battles over basic resources like water will make the current drama about masks and vaccines look trivial.

Where is the shelter for Christians in these storms?

The Festival of Shelters, commonly called Sukkot or the Feast of Tabernacles, and known also as the Feast of Ingathering, is a biblical Jewish holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the seventh month, Tishrei.

The Festival of Shelters for the year 2021 starts on the evening of Monday, September 20th, and the ending of the 7 day festival is on sundown Monday, September 27th.

The Bible refers to the Feast of the Ingathering (Exodus 23:16), when grains and fruits were gathered at the harvest’s end, and to the Feast of Booths (Leviticus 23:34), recalling the days when the Israelites lived in huts (sukkot) during their years of wandering in the wilderness after the Exodus from Egypt. The festival is characterized by the building of huts made of branches.

How great is Your goodness
that You have stored up for those who fear You
and accomplished in the sight of everyone
for those who take refuge in You.
You hide them in the protection of Your presence;
You conceal them in a shelter
from the schemes of men,
from quarrelsome tongues. (Psalm 31:19-20)

The Exodus of Israel from Egypt was the historical event that God wanted Israel not to forget. Hence why several future biblical authors refer to the event, declaring to their audience not to forget it. The Lord even spoke through Jeremiah the prophet saying:

…the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt…(Jeremiah 31:32)

Of all the feasts that the Lord prescribed for Israel to celebrate in commemoration of His relationship with them, the only one we know that will be celebrated in the future regularly by ALL nations that are left after the tribulation is the Feast of Tabernacles.

Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to celebrate the Festival of Booths. Should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of Hosts, rain will not fall on them. And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter, then rain will not fall on them; this will be the plague the Lord inflicts on the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Booths. This will be the punishment of Egypt and all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Booths. (Zechariah 14:16-19)

Did you notice that none of the other six feasts are to be celebrated by the gentiles in the future – just this one? This is a festival that originally described another old chapter of the love story between God and His chosen people – Israel.

Yet under the New Testament (New Covenant), this festival will be fulfilled and celebrated by ALL nations every year in Jerusalem.

The two elements that are interesting in Zechariah’s prophecy are:

1) “…Everyone that is left from ALL nations…” – speaking of a remnant from a great global catastrophe.

2) “…Come up to Jerusalem to worship the King…” – The nations will come up to Jerusalem to worship the Messiah who will sit on the throne of David and restore his fallen tabernacle.

This is the only time we hear the name Feast of Tabernacles in conjunction with some global events that will cause many to die.

Then it’s followed by gentiles coming from outside of Israel to gather with the Jews in the land, and all of them coming to Jerusalem to be part of the Lord’s kingdom on earth.

The tribulation, followed by the return of the Messiah back to earth together with His redeemed ones whom He took to be with Him to escape God’s judgment, are the major events that will usher in the fulfillment of this great festival.

Even though the Feast of Tabernacles is about the Exodus from Egypt and dwelling in booths during the long journey of Israel into their promised land, the bigger picture is the Kingdom of God on earth known as the Millennial Kingdom.

He will tabernacle with us in the New Heavens, New Earth, and New Jerusalem. The shift is made from our Tabernacles in the past to His Tabernacle among people in the future.

This is why we read the following in the book of Revelation:

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3)

May we all remember that in order to reign with Him during the Millennial Kingdom, we must believe in the Passover sacrifice (Jesus’ shed blood) who lived an Unleavened (sinless) life, becoming the First Fruits (resurrection) from among the dead, who sent His Holy Spirit at Pentecost to be with us until the last Trumpet (rapture), when He will take us to be with Him during the tribulation. Once He returns, ALL Israel will be saved as they mourn during their last Day of Atonement.

The Lord is our shelter from the storm!

Soon, the Lord will take all of us who are sealed with His Holy Spirit: 

 As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark. They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. So this is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be: Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one left. Therefore be alert, since you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. (Matthew 24:37-42)

For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18)

Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. (John 14:1-3)

If you are not sure that you are saved, you can accept Christ into your life right now, by praying:

“Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.  I ask you in to my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior.”

Interesting, I always wondered about this Millennial Kingdom Feast.
The Jews were taken out of Egypt, freed from bondage and they had to live in tents. To remember what God did for them, they annually celebrated with a feast.
The Great Tribulation may very well destroy all buildings that stand from the worldwide earthquake mentioned in Revelation 6:12 and 16:18 (also Isaiah 13:13). People will not be living in buildings for some time! The survivors will be in tents as the Israelites once were. After the many years or decades of clean up, they will begin again to reconstruct buildings and from generation to generation will remember the time when we were all in tents after the Great Tribulation. We will celebrate freedom from the World system, Satan’s influence, false religions, philosphies, evil governments, vaccines … antichrists.

The Bible does not prophesy the end of the world or of total destruction, but of a whole series of carefully timed events that lead up to the great and glorious Return of Jesus. The final countdown of the end times will take years and before the first prophesied event happens, we are told of a few preliminary things that will set the stage for the political, economic and religious climate that is necessary to trigger the Lord’s action. These preparatory steps seem to be falling into place in rapid succession.

It is humanly impossible to resolve the political situation in the Middle East, many countries have failing economies and in many countries; population has outstripped their resources.

Many people today react negatively to anyone who warns about a coming reset of civilization, even though it is obvious that things cannot continue as they are for much longer. They say it is foolish to worry about what may happen, or even talk about the trends and signs that point toward the end time scenario as portrayed in Scripture.

In Matthew 16:1-4, Jesus sternly rebuked the religious leaders of His day for their failure to discern the signs of His first coming. He was fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies and performing miracles, yet they were blind to it all. Likewise today, many religious leaders are doing the same, blinded to prophecy and to the signs that point to an imminent commencement of God’s program of preparation for the Second coming of Jesus.

God is preparing the world stage for His drama of the ages. When the curtain parts, when the heavens are torn asunder, Isaiah 64:1-2, then those who have failed to understand or even to consider the more than 100 prophesies that clearly tell about the forthcoming fire judgement/punishment, they will be shocked and terrified. .

A judgement by fire will happen next and it will be a testing time for all mankind. 1 Peter 4:12

Do not hope for a rapture from this first event. The prophesies that tell of a ‘meeting in the air’ refer to the visible Return of Jesus for His Millennial reign, which is to come much later

The greatest threat facing the world is a nuclear armed Iran attacking Israel, along with their proxies and all the Islamic peoples. Psalms 83

Bible prophecy, our sure guide with proven fulfilled predictions, tells us that this war will not happen. Ezekiel 7:14 God’s wrath destroyed the civilization of Noah’s time with a great flood; this time He will use fire to destroy His enemies. The Lord promises to save a remnant of Jews in Jerusalem, Isaiah 31:5 and around the world, all those people who take heed of the warnings to shelter and who call upon His Name for protection, will be kept safe. Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, Isaiah 43:2

Do not doubt; events will unfold as the prophets have so graphically prophesied, so long ago. First this terrible judgement by fire, a massive CME will be blasted out from the Lord’s storehouse, the sun. Deut. 32:34-35, Isaiah 30:26-30

Then the world’s survivors will establish a One World Government, but the great promises of God to the Patriarchs and to His righteous people will then be fulfilled, as they gather and settle into the Holy Land. Zechariah 10:8-10, Romans 9:24-26
